Let’s get to work! Grounding is one of the most important things we can learn about ourselves. To quickly discern whether we are grounded or not is key for a happy day!

Grounding, in other words, may be helpful if you're feeling anxious and living in the past -- or the future -- but not in the present. If you're not grounded, your energy may be scattered everywhere (mentally, emotionally, and physically), and that is why you lose things, have "off" days, and sometimes feel clumsy. Grounding is a habit that connects you energetically to the earth. It allows you to be more authentically in your body and in the present moment. Grounding allows creativity to flow, giving birth to your visions and goals!

Being ungrounded makes it harder to create and achieve what you desire. It keeps you unfocused, easily distracted, in chaos, missing in action, feeling anxious, powerless and unsafe. It can make you feel like you are out of control because you are easily influenced by your environment and other people’s feelings.  Have you noticed when you can’t concentrate that you feel spacey and out of your body? Like you aren’t relating or functioning as well as you’d like to on the physical level?

Sometimes we tend to lean more into the "thinking" and not "feeling"-- more in our heads than in our bodies. You think about your feelings rather than feel them. This means you are ungrounded -- but it's all good, we all have been there.

We will work with some beautiful meditations, remove seeds and rooted old stories about ourselves, observe who we are and what we look like when we are not grounded, and learn the tools that work the quickest and fastest for us to Come to Now!

So say no more, enjoy!

Let's start with a monthly practice. One that we feel comfortable using when we start to feel anxious or stressed. But most importantly, one that will reset our nervous system, change our patterns, and allow us to live in a more grounded way.

Through meditation, we are able to clear the mind by allowing all the emotions and commotions to settle down and allow what truly IS to come forward for us to see, for us to recognize our true nature. A grounding meditation is a workshop for your root center. It is a way to put our energetic feet on the ground and come forward to the present. These two Kundalini practices passed by Yogi Bhajan, the master of Kundalini Yoga, will help you release conscious and subconscious fears that cause stress, worry, and anxiety.

These meditations will calm and balance your mind and help you relax and reduce stress and anxiety (A.K.A. living in the future and not being grounded at all). A grounding meditation is a great way to regain stability and connect to earth. Stress and anxiety can cause you to feel detached from the world around you and the floor beneath you. Grounding through meditation can help you balance and center your mind and body and regain control. So if you need a simple and fast way to calm down and relax, try this way to balance yourself and fight anxiety and panic attacks -- or simply to just relax and feel like you are a part of it all.

Pick a mediation that appeals to your heart. Practice it for the next 30 days. Commit to it, commit to you. Use our October calendar, checking the box next to every day you gave yourself time for you. But be kind to yourself. It's OK to miss a day here and there -- it isn't a competition, it is just self-care.

YOUR GROUNDING SPIRITUAL TOOLS

  • SAGE BUNDLE: Let's root the place where you will be working. It is important to sit in a place with clean energy if our intention is to reset and become vulnerable with ourselves. Sage cleans your space. Use it all around your home, your space, as many times as you need to. :: Get yours here ::

  • GOLDEN PRINT:  Once your space is clean, let's start to create a sacred space. A place where you always come to find the truth, to dive deeper and honor yourself. Place this print here. If this is not resonating with you, put it in a place where you'll see it often and easily. Doing the work and connecting the meditation feelings with the affirmations allows your mind to quickly shift when needed. :: Get yours here ::

  • ESSENTIAL OIL ROLLER:  Vetiver, Siberian Fir, Patchouli and Cedarwood with Garnet Gemstones. Here are two ways to use it:

Nightstand: Place this beauty on your nightstand, and before you go to bed every night, rub the bottom of your feet with this essential oil. It will not only set your mind in a space of gratitude and presence, but it will allow the oils to go into the muscles and nervous system, allowing your body to relax any anxiety or stress.

Meditation Space: If you'd rather have it here, rub the bottom of your feet with this essential oil before and after your mediation. It will help you focus and ground your energy before and after.

    :: Get yours here ::

  • CRYSTAL QUARTZ FACE ROLLER:  Part of feeling grounded is feeling your body's presence. Baths, massages, working out -- anything that allows you to be grateful and connect with it. A crystal face roller is a beautiful habit that helps you take some time for you and also enhances your beauty routine. Place it in the fridge and take it out at night or after a workout class. Roll it across your face slowly... and focus on the feeling. Make this a weekly routine. :: Get yours here ::

  • COME TO NOW CREWNECK:  To learn the importance of living in the present is to allow yourself to see the truth, and only what it is right in front of you. No speculations, no revisiting scenes from the past and debating what you did or didn’t do. It is taking a breath and understanding that all that matters is the now, and we have a chance to move in the direction we want every second we have. So when you are moving at what feels like a crazy-high speed or are simply feeling "off," wear your crew and use it as a beautiful reminder to Come to Now - - where life is actually happening. :: Get yours here ::

Let’s set some intentions for this month and work with them throughout the weeks to come. The moon and its four faces allow us to stay on track with a set intention. By doing so, we are setting a commitment with our desires and our actions as well as releasing old patterns and stories that are holding us back. Take some time every week to review the moon chart, and follow up with your intention and how it develops throughout the month.

This helps us stay grounded by pledging to follow through on our earthly duties. Grounding is about being present in our actions -- and if we stay committed on a weekly basis, there is no room for anxiety, nor past or present fears. Print me and hold me next to your October calendar. Or print your October Workbook HERE

Keeping an eye on your behavior when you are NOT grounded is as important as knowing who you are when you are grounded. Take some time to write it down. How do you show up? Do you lose things? Feel more emotional? Take things more personally? Let’s show our mind we notice these patterns, we are aware of them, and we are taking charge. Let's get really honest and change patterns that no longer serve us.

  • 3 GROUNDING TRUTHS TO COME BACK TO:
    1. Where is my mind?

This one might be my favorite. It has no agenda other than checking in. You don’t need to analyze, solve, or decide anything -- just acknowledge where you are now, showing love and only love to wherever that is and whatever arises.

That compassionate honesty becomes the foundation for whatever comes next. This serves as a reminder to treat yourself with kindness and to be intentional about drawing yourself back into the present.

    2. What do I want to remember about right now?

When you’re feeling aimless, vaguely unhappy, or overwhelmed, asking yourself what you want to remember most from right now can help you regain a sense of meaning and purpose. And if you’re feeling overjoyed and optimistic, it can help you nurture those feelings.

    3. Am I living with trust and truth?

Whether you are or you’re not, the best thing you can do is be honest about it.

I’ve had my “no” moments, but I was so far from my truth that I couldn’t admit it. Those were the times when I spent more time acting than living. I think the hope was to find connection and happiness, but it only ever left me feeling so far from myself that I didn’t know who I was or what I wanted out of life.

So, what’s changed? The goals I set, the expectations I hold myself to, my perceived obligations, the way I speak to myself, the way I speak to others, and the power I give others in my life. Taking time to reflect this month showed me that even when life is speeding by, it’s still the here and now that contains infinite riches.

  • MORNING & NIGHT GROUNDING HABITS:
    - Journaling:  Every morning or night, write. Write a few words, whatever comes to mind. Sometimes we avoid writing things thinking we might remember them later, but you would be surprised how much you can get to know yourself by simply writing. Bringing awareness to our perceived suffering is so empowering. So often we just get consumed by this feeling of fear without actually bringing attention to what makes up the experience. Writing in the mornings or at night will give you a sense of empowerment and the strength to be and do you.

    - Gratitude: When you start feeling ungrounded, anxious, stressed, and/or trapped in a mental story that is feeling bad -- stop yourself. Give thanks, find things you are thankful for. Set your mind on a path of gratitude instead of a path of anxiety. This will redirect your entire molecular structure to relax, breathe, and slow down, allowing you to come to the present moment and gain perspective.

    - What day is today? Try asking yourself, what day is it -- what year, what month is today? Where do I live? Where am I? Asking where you're going is enough to see where you are at and set an intention to move toward a better place. Visualize how you would like the next 3, 6, and 12 hours to go. Fill them with love, ease, and trust. This will ground you in seconds and allows you to come back to the present moment.

  • MANTRAS & MUSIC:
    - Mantra for peace: This beautiful mantra will bring your heart back to center. Play it during meditation, a hot bath or a cooking night.

We are on time: There is no rush -- you are exactly where you need to be. You are going to love this song!

OM: The famous OM. The sound of "om," when chanted, vibrates at the frequency of 432 Hz, which is the same vibrational frequency found throughout everything in nature. Excellent to reset your mind.

  • GOOD READS:
    The Power of Intention
    by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer
An intention is generally viewed as a certain kind of determination propelling one to succeed at all costs by never giving up on an inner picture. In this view, an attitude that combines hard work with an indefatigable drive toward excellence is the way to succeed. However, the intention is viewed very differently in this book. Dr. Wayne W. Dyer has researched intention as a force in the universe that allows the act of creation to take place. This book explores intention -- anything you do -- as an energy you're part of.

    -
The Feeling Good Handbook by David D. Burns
With his phenomenally successful Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy, Dr. David Burns introduced a groundbreaking, drug-free treatment for depression. In this bestselling companion, he reveals powerful new techniques and provides step-by-step exercises that help you cope with the full range of everyday problems.

  • VISUALIZATION:

Practice this before you fall asleep or in the morning. “Grounding and centering” is a visualization and meditation exercise you can use to focus yourself on the present and learn to feel more whole, more aware. Try it whenever you are stressed, worried, or nervous. The image of a tree evokes feelings of stability and connectedness for many people. This may take some practice, but with diligence, you may find that this exercise helps you live in the moment.
